Blackbird (Sold)

I named this painting after the song Blackbird by the Beatles. There is so much in the lyrics of that song that explained my journey in painting. Years ago, I experienced a heartbreak, but something happened through that. It was sort of a rebirth for me. I discovered a version of myself I had never known, I discovered my art. I never knew art was in me. In the process of healing, I had to take up my broken wings again and learn to fly. When I posted this painting on social media, it became my most popular work and sold shortly after I created it. Blackbird lyrics: “Blackbird singing in the dead of night, take these broken wings and learn to fly, all my life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise.”
